7D6N North Vietnam - Summer June 2007

Hanoi - Halong Bay 2D 1N - Sapa 2D3N

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, lies in the middle of Red River.

Main attractions: Old Quater; Hoan Kiem Lake (the landmark); French Area; Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum or Muzeum; Water Puppet shows & the local FOOD

Halong Bay - one of the world heritage. It took about 3 hrs drives from Hanoi Old quarter till the Halong City a.k.a the jetty for boat or junk rides into Halong Bay.

There are options of staying in Cat Ba island hotel or overnight on boat. We selected overnight on boat cabin and enjoyed the peaceful and calming night in the Halong Bay

Sapa & Bac Ha market - a hill-side area about an hour bus ride from Lao Cai, border to Hekou, Yunnan. We took night sleeper train (~8hours) from Hanoi till Lao Cai. Colder weather in Sapa, nice greenery mountain and lot of Ethnics. BacHa market is only available on Sunday, where there are a lot of Flower H'mong ethnics doing their weekend "shopping" in this morning market, it took about 2hours van ride from Sapa town until Bac Ha along some mountainary winding roads and stepping padi fields...
