Fraser's Hill 3-4June2006

A trip was planned out to have a gathering since our "dai ka jie" Jia Jia is back from UK for a month holiday. The earlier plan was to hike Gunung Datuk and camp overnight on top of the hill...
But, at last-minute we had to change our plan due to unforseen circumtances. Anyhow, Gunung Datuk, I will come in the near future!

At last, we decided to proceed to Fraser's Hill which is quite near to KL (about 1.5-2hours drive)to avoid the possibility of long hour traffic jam on this school & public holiday season.

After having our 'dim sum' breakfast, we started our journey at around 10am.
Stopped by at the foot hill for the view of KKB Dam/Lake. According to Jia, it looks alike the view in Scotland, are you SURE?!!!

Along the way up to the hill, me and SuYuen were so dizzy, because of the late night(~2.30am) sleep the night before or the skills of our driver,Rwen on the winding road?
No blaming... she is the frequent visitor to Fraser's Hill who knows the way so well! Thanks Rwen as the tour guide :P
Didn't know how is WeiLun's car... should be pretty fine.

Reached The Pine Hill Resort in the noon ~1pm. Without hesistate, everyone helped preparing the lunch as stomach started to sound? After "makan", time to rest for me, SuYuen & Jia with the cooling weather there.. how about others?! we did not know as we have met our "zhou gong" easily with fulled stomach :)

About 4pm, we decided to cycle around!
Well, it was not easy to cycle around hill-side!
We headed to Jerai Waterfall which is around 4km from the so-called "pusat bandar"(the small town of Fraser's Hill). On the way, we were attracted by The European-style resort - The SmokeHouse and stopped there for tea-time and ice-cream...emmm, yummy!

We cycled all the way down hill for ~4km in 15minutes to reach the entrance towards Jerai Waterfall. Opps, i should say we actually sliding down following the hill-way!
The feeling when "sliding" down the hill was so nice, with the fresh-cold air/breeze blowing towards us... and of course we had difficulty on controlling the brake too!
The waterfall was not attractive in that evening, the water was so "brown", not as clear as what we expected, well, it could be due to the rains earlier..

Alamak! After such an enjoyable cycling down the hill, now only we started to think of how to cycle back up the hill! It was so exhausted. At last, we spent almost 2 hrs+ walking & pushing the bicycle up the hill and we reached the resort at ~ 8pm!

We had our own-prepared steamboat dinner in the resort... it was warm while outside was raining and cold!
That night I believed all of us had a good sleep because we supposed to have an early hike to the Pine trail the next morning, but, none of us can wake up so early! :)

So-called yoga section at the golf club?
After having breakfast, and the "barley-fu zhok-white nut tong sui" specially cooked by Syuen, we drove around Fraser, visited around the pine trees area, the banglows, the golf club field leisurely... we passed by part of the roads we cycled the day before and had the same feeling on those familiar scenery or landmarks along the way! ! Wow, damn long long way, luckily we managed to do it!

On the way back, we stopped by at Hulu Yam for those famous "loh mee" & "Hokkien Mee" and the delicious hot-pan sotong. Jia jia, we know you will miss this tasty food in UK! Same to you, Suyuen, who always complains about the food in Singapore.
Dear all, I appreciated the memorable time we had together...
