National Day, 31st August

31st Aug 2006, which marks the 49th anniversary of the National's independence day. Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka!.... Are you showing any of your patriotism by hanging the National Flag, attending those parade, firework countdown..etc? Nope for me on those act, definitely.hehe.
Fortunately enough, it is a public holiday fo us!

For these few days, I went back to Penang. Again.
Surprisingly get to know that Sam has bought a new pet, called Nono, a silky terrier. I am not a pet keeper before, but have to take care of Nono for few days! At first, i scared of him, but he kept "kacau-ing" to play around with him. After a day, started to like him and he was so active and smart! No wonder my friends who have pet will miss their pets so much whenever they are away. It is like a toy! Everyday I have to clean up for him :( Luckily, this smart Nono knows to "settle" himself at washroom, easier job for us.

Besides, I met up with 2 x-colleagues, Yong and Ng who have moved away from KL and work in Penang recently. Well, both of them are not Penangites but work in this small Penang island. Funny. Shouldn't I be the one who should move back to Penang rather than them ar? hahaha. Many were asking this question too.
Brought them touring Penang island in a short! From Gurney, to Tanjung Tokong, Tjg Bunga, Batu Ferringhi, Teluk Bahang dam, then on the way to the other end - Balik Pulau, had the famous laksa there as well, looked for durian, but it was already end of season, we were so disappointed.
And on the way coming down from Balik Pulau, I noticed the way to "Bukit Genting"(Little Genting Hill) Yup, this is the place that I have heard of this new hilltop leisure park earlier but I still have not been there too! At last, I decided to have a look!

Wow, it is about 20min. drive on the uphill way until the top with some dangerous turning points as well. But, great! without any hiking, we can reach the hilltop by car! By the time we reached there, it was almost 6pm+ , the best time and best place for sunset and overseeing the breaktaking scenery of Penang island - the Strait of Melacca, Teluk Kumbar, fishing villages, padi fields..etc. There is a chalet-type Thai restaurant at the hilltop. How nice it is, while enjoying a coconut drink and waiting for the sunset and the splendid panaroma of the island :)
Another disappointment for us, none of us brought camera on that day to capture the beautiful scenes. So, just a few shots with my phone camera here. Not so clear. Sigh. Yong promised that she will return to this place very soon! Well, she did it when another friend visitted her in Penang recently!
That night, we went to SOHO at Upper-Penang-road! Another bistro that I always heard from Miow Miow and Jasmine that I have not been to as well. Aiyo, sounds there are many places in Penang that I still have not been to. So much changes or excitement in Penang for the past few years? Not really :P
Went there late night with MChin & Yong and met up with Jasmine & friends there, who are the frequent drinkers/visitors to SOHO.
...A tired day...
